WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday

Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.

W. T. F.

Well believe it or not, there were two WTF’s at Stone Manor this week and they both happened yesterday!

Hubby was outside when I got home.

I looked up as I pulled in and saw Sampson run across the lawn to greet me.  Sampson loves to be out when his Dad is working outside, Delilah who can’t be trusted to stay in the yard, greeted me from the balcony.

I love when Hubby is home when I get home because it means he can prepare the dog’s food and start supper while I get an early walk in.

I asked Hubby to prepare their food,  while I went and changed into my walking clothes.

The dogs were intently watching Dad chunk the roast.

A big WTF goes out to the canines at Stone Manor.

I jingled their collars and was ignored.

WTF?

I’m the one who takes you for a walk every, single day and you ignore me for a hunk of beef?

Where’s the love man?

Hubby’s the brunt of the second WTF.

I reached down to put Sampson’s collar on and realized he didn’t have his ID collar on while he was outside!

WTF?  I said to Hubby, he was outside without a collar?

Guess what that a-hole said?

Unlike you, I have faith in him.

News flash: I have faith in him too muther f*cker, you know why I have faith?

Because I’m the one out there walking and working those  dogs every day of my life.

Don’t ever imply I don’t have faith in my dogs.  That just might earn you a night or two on the couch.

What kind of idiot lets their dog outside without a collar?

The idiot who lives with me. 😦

WTF/Whoo Hoo

Injured Dog Rescued From Mountain.

In last week’s WTF post Missy the German Shepherd’s story made the WTF portion of the post.  Technically while it was horrible, the fact that a group of strangers came together to save her should have been a big WHOO HOO!!

I’m still on the fence about this one, only because after abandoning his dog, this jack wagon now wants his dog back.

I have a saying and it goes like this, “You can blame your parents for the first eighteen years of your life, after that you need to own your own shit.”  Yes you can quote me.

I’ll give him credit, the guy owned his shit.

And I’ll own mine, I still haven’t read all the threads on the hiking forum, but I have read this article.  Apparently the guy says he did try and get the dog down the mountain and did call 911 but was told that rescue teams only went out for humans.

I believe that.  But I also believe that there were other options available to him and that he didn’t put forth the effort that one of us would have put forth.

I get that not everyone knows about the great dog resources and support available by social media, but you have to be living under a rock if you haven’t heard ABOUT social media!

Come on!  Women have been reunited with their lost children on Facebook!!

He messed up, he messed up bad.  He admitted it.  He wants his dog back.

Sorry Charlie, only the best tasting tuna gets to be Starfish.

Whoo Hoo

Whew!  My really bad WTF for this week turned out to be a Whoo Hoo!

My dear friend Donna, from Donna and the dogs posted this on my facebook page.

Three Dogs Tied to Ohio Railroad Tracks, One Survives.

I read the post with a sick feeling in my stomach and then tried to get it out of my mind until it was time to write the post.

Quite honestly, even though I read about this kind of stuff all the time, it still just boggles my mind how cruel some people can be.

If you really don’t want a dog, then please just bring it to the pound.  Even if they end up putting it to sleep (it sucks, but it’s reality) at least it’s humane.

When I sat down to write the post I did a little googling to see if maybe they caught the ass-clown who did this and I found this article.

Cleveland police say story of 3 dogs tied to Tremont railroad tracks wasn’t true.

What a freakin relief!

Although I worry now that someone has put the idea out there that some other a-hole won’t attempt to do the same thing. 😦

Thankfully this week’s WTF/Whoo Hoo didn’t leave me feeling to down in the dumps.  How was your week?  Anything you’d like to share?

WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday

Town wants family to get rid of pet bunny, New Haven, CT

Yeah, apparently New Haven has a zoning law that says rabbits are not allowed on properties if the property size is less than 2 acres.

I have one question.

WHY?

What’s the reasoning behind not letting a seven-year-old keep one little rabbit?  I can understand why you wouldn’t want tons of bunnies hopping about but what’s the harm in one?

What can I say about this?  It’s a bunny people, it hops around, chews wires and leaves little pellets of poop.

Oh and once a year it delivers eggs.  (Why does a bunny deliver eggs?  Wouldn’t that be better from a chicken? I guess here comes the Easter chicken just doesn’t sound right.)

I’m a little nervous for New Haven’s Easter Egg hunt next year.  I hope the site they choose is over 2 acres.

Dog Abandoned in Mountains, Colorado

I first saw this post on My Girlz Got Paws, and followed her linkage to the LOST AND FOUND page.  I’ve had this song stuck in my head all day.

Rocky Mountain High.

Yeah, someone is high in Colorado all right.

You don’t take your dog hiking, let it walk to the point that its paws get torn up and then leave it on the stinkin’ mountain.

You’ve been hiking too long and the altitude has gone to your brain.

Have you ever seen the picture of the person wading waist deep in water with their dog on their back?

Grab a vowel Vanna, there are ways to move your dog if you need to.

I often think about this while I am out in the woods with my dogs.

What if one of them became ill or were injured?  How would I get them home?

Yes, I’ve actually thought about this.  I would remove my shirt or pants if necessary and drag my dog if need be.

Relax, I’m pretty sure Hubby would be able to help me to prevent that, but I reserve the right to keep my options open. 🙂

Puppy Stuffed In Bag Thrown Out Of Moving Car In Brentwood, West Islip, NY

A three-month old puppy was thrown out in a plastic bag from a moving car.

The puppy named Joey, broke his neck, bruised his lungs and has chest trauma.  The vets are not sure if he will ever be able to use his front legs again.

The puppy also showed signs he may have been used as a bait dog for dog fighting.

Honestly what kind of sub-human species does this?

I hope they find these sick SOB’s and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

Better yet, I like the idea of a Bully Beatdown.

Have you ever watched this show?  It’s on MTV.

I know who watches MTV anymore?

This former UFC fighter takes on people who bully others and puts them in the ring with professional fighters.

Yup and then they get their asses kicked.

Oh to live in Jodi’s world. 🙂

Miami-Dade Residents Vote to Keep Pit Bull Ban Tuesday, Miami, FL

I had hopes that Miami-Dade would be my Whoo Hoo segment but sadly ignorance still abounds in Miami.

Tuesday just over 63% of the voting population chose to keep the 23-year pit bull ban in place.

Disappointing?  Yes.

Surprising? No.

Unfortunately even though we live in the information age, many people are misinformed about this breed of dogs, mostly because of the ignorance and cruelty of a small, select group of individuals.

Let’s not take this as a defeat but as a lesson learned.

Educate and advocate.  That should be our battle cry.  Together we CAN defeat BSL.

Whoo Hoo

After all that awful shit I had to leave you with something beautiful.

John Unger and Schoep, Bayfield, WI

You’ve all seen the photo on facebook.

A man standing in the water cradling his dog.

A dog that has been his companion for 19 years.

A dog old-age is creeping up on.

When John carries Schoep into the water, Schoep finally gets relief from his aches and pains.  The comfort of his human, the rocking of the waves and the lack of pressure on his joints allows him to finally get some sleep.  Sometimes they stay there for hours.

After all the ugly and sad WTF stories, it restores my faith in humanity to see someone taking such care of their geriatric dog.

How was your week?  Anything exciting to add to this Woo Hoo post?

W.T.F./Whoo Hoo Wednesday

Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.

My boss was on vacation last week, as is sometimes the case when he is on vacation I am in charge of driving him to the airport and then making sure his car is there when he arrives.

I’m an admin, it’s part of the job description. 🙂

Hubby followed me to the airport.

Here in CT we have this awesome little connector called 291, it connects I-84 to I-91 and makes traveling to the airport about a 20 to 25 minute ride from my house.  The length of the ride is determined by my mood. 🙂

I digress.

As I was making the turn from I-291 to I-91 I noticed a car pulled over on the side of the highway.  The passenger door was against the curbing and the driver’s door was on the traffic side.  The driver was standing at his door looking up the hill and his hand was pointing down.  I chanced a quick look as I drove by and saw what he was looking at.

It was his dog, doing its business.

Apparently his dog had to potty and so this fucktard idiot pulls over on a busy highway and lets his dog out of the car without a leash!  It all happened so fast (and I was going at a good clip with cars behind me,) I didn’t think to stop and chew that piece of shit scum out.

WTF is wrong with you letting your dog out, off leash on the side of a highway!!

Do you have any idea what could have happened to your dog if something frightened it?  Do you have the brains you were born with or did you leave them on the side of some highway?

After I dropped off the car and Hubby and I were riding home he asked me if I saw that car on the side of the highway.

Ooops, Hubby got an earful!

That POS was lucky I didn’t stop.  What’s the penalty for stealing a dog anyway?

Animal Rights Group Seeks Punishment For Men Involved In Throwing Dog Down Manhole, Malaysia

Honest to God you can’t make this shit stuff up.

Apparently these two guys were supposed to be taking care of this man’s dog.

Why agree to take care of a dog if you don’t want to?

Wait, it gets worse.

Not only did they shove the dog in a manhole, but apparently someone videotaped the incident and put it on youtube where it went viral.

WHAT?  Why would you put it on youtube instead of turning the video over to police?

I went to youtube and searched for dog put in manhole to see just what kind of asshole idiot does this shit stuff and you know what I found?

Videos of dogs breeding.

One video  “Dog Breeding…..AND THEY GET STUCK” has had 341,724 views.

Really, there’s nothing on the telly and nothing you can be doing besides watching two dogs….wait how did the intelligent being who created the video phrase it…..ah yes, “bumpin’ uglies?”

And we wonder why the world is in such a mess.  Look no further than youtube my friends.

I don’t know about you, but that’s about as much WTF as I can handle for today.

WHOO HOO!

Michigan dogfighting bust results in 46 dogs seized, 2 men behind bars, Kalamazoo, Michigan

I won’t lie, dog fighting is horrific and barbaric  and in my opinion anyone caught participating in it should be subjected to the same treatment they gave the dogs. (That’s how it would work in Jodi’s World.) 🙂

But I digress again.

The pictures of the dogs are heartbreaking, but as I scrolled through them looking at the dogs, I saw love.  Those dogs that were chained, abused and neglected still reached out tentatively at the outstretched hand of man and took a cautious sniff.  I can’t help but think what a different world this would be if we all had the heart of a dog.

Another feel good about this story is the local humane society connected with a pit bull rescue to help treat and assess the dogs.  Petsmart provided food and vaccinations for the dogs.

That gives me hope.  A national chain, who could put their resources wherever they wanted, donated to abused dogs.

Warms the cockles of your heart, eh?

WTF Wednesday

Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.

The entire post was going to be devoted to my Canadian friends.   Montreal to be exact.

Wicca the Pit Bull

If you’re on facebook you probably heard about Wicca, another Pit Bull euthanized for a incident where the owner states the dog did not bite, only grazed.  It is a similar case to Lennox where the owner appealed but was rejected.  Sadly Wicca was euthanized last Thursday.

What makes this case even worse, is the city is trying to pass a new law where a dog involved in a bite incident can be euthanized within 24 hours, leaving very little time for the dog’s owner to take any legal action.

To this I say, Montreal, WTF?

When did people lose all common sense?  I know the old saying if common sense was common…. but come on!  Pull your heads out of your asses and think about it.  What causes a dog to bite?  Why are the circumstances not taken into consideration?

Is there nothing more pressing going on in your community that you cannot focus on?

What if you were to spend your money say on fixing the economy? Instead of persecuting dogs because they look a certain way.

I thought Montreal’s stupidity was more than enough for a W.T.F. Wednesday post and then I saw this.

Rep. Steve King defends the right to watch dog fighting and this GOP Rep. Steve King Defends Dog Fighting, IOWA – Warning if you click on one of these links you will see the results of dog fighting.

Apparently Iowa’s representative King opposes an amendment to the farm bill, which he verbalized at a tele-townhall last week.

I could go on a rant right here and call Mr. King every name under the sun, but if I cannot articulate my words and be concise in my criticism than I am just as ignorant as he is.

I’m just going to quote Mr. King  here, “It’s wrong to rate animals above human beings,” he told the questioner. To make his point, King argued that “there’s something wrong” for society to make it a “federal crime to watch animals fight” but “it’s not a federal crime to induce somebody to watch people fighting.”

Let me explain the difference to you assbag. (Ok, sometimes articulation is over-rated.)

People who CHOOSE to fight do so of THEIR OWN FREE WILL.  They know full well the risks involved in fighting and take those risks willingly.

Unlike dogs, bears and roosters who are starved, tortured and tormented oh and did I forget, EXECUTED when they lose.

It really makes me wonder where we are headed as a society when our elected officials have this kind of mentality.

Complaining doesn’t work.

You can write as many letters and e-mails as you want, you can call every day, every five minutes even, sign as many petitions as you can but unless you have your representative’s cell phone number or can schedule a face to face, the reality is your representative won’t hear your words.  An admin in his office is writing down your comments and generalizing them with her weekly reports.

Yes Mr. King you had 52 people call and complain about your comment regarding dog fighting.

Thank you Susan, duly noted.

Real change.

Just because your congressman/representative isn’t reading your e-mails doesn’t mean you CAN’T make a difference.

We   live in the world of social media.  You can blog it, tweet it, facebook, google+, pin it, the possibilities are endless.  The point is to keep these critical animal issues in the spotlight.  Send information to your local news networks, ask them to cover the stories.

Shine the light on the ignorance associated with BSL and dog fighting.

Oh and if you live in Iowa, your voice is heard at the polls.

It’s the only way.

Airline Employees Abuse Disable Veteran and His Service Dog – Dallas, Texas

According to this veteran two different United Airlines employees kicked his dog and then another employee allegedly called him retarded.  Are you freakin’ kidding me?

You kicked a dog.

In the airport.

You do know that non-working dogs aren’t typically allowed in airports right?  So this wasn’t some stressed out, out-of-control dog hell-bent on destruction.

It’s what we call a service dog.  Think about those words.  Service.

Most service dogs I know are mellower than mellow, they would never jump, bark or even lick someone while working.

And who the hell says retarded anymore?  The politically correct term is mentally challenged or handicapped.

If you’re going to act like a freakin moron, please at least use the correct terminology.

You couldn’t have picked a bigger demographic of people to piss off.  Veterans, people who love veterans and animal lovers.  Good thing you just merged with Continental, they should be able to carry your ass for a while.

I think I just figured out why United only serves peanuts on their flights,  apparently their employees aren’t capable of handling much more than that.

Whoo Hoo Wednesday!!

Ohio Removes Pit Bull From Vicious Dogs List –  Colombus, OH

Um, this bit of news is like 2 1/2 months old.  I know it’s shameful, but it just came across my facebook page a couple of days ago, either way you look at it, it’s great news indeed!

Ohio was one of those moronic states that thinks just because a dog looks a certain way, he acts a certain way as well.

Thankfully more and more towns and states are beginning to wise up that in most instances it is not the dogs that are fault, but irresponsible owners.

Watch out Miami/Dade you’re next!

Check out this post from Life With Dogs.

Do you think it matters that this Mayor is a woman?

Anything got your dander up this week?  Something good rock your world?  Please share in the comments.

W.T.F./Whoo Hoo Wednesday

Here comes another W.T.F. Wednesday where I can’t even make fun of someone.

Police Dog in Tucson Dies After Being Left in Hot Car – Tucson Arizona

The title alone is awful, another dog left alone in a hot car.

In Tucson no less!

The line under the title is worse, “Officer switched cars, forgot about his partner.”

Say it with me.

What the f*ck!

Apparently this police officer switched cars and left immediately for the scene of an accident, as he’s on his way to the scene he suddenly remembers his partner.

Gee, I’m thinking you go to get into the car and think, weapon – check, keys – check, cell phone – check, billy club – check, partner ?, um partner ?

If I worked for the Tucson police department and was assigned to partner with this guy, I’d think long and hard about resigning.

I’ve already said this once this week,  I’m in the mentalpause stage of my life.  I’ve forgotten quite a few things, most notably inanimate objects that I’ve misplaced somewhere.

Alright, I might have forgotten the kids at work once or twice, and there was that time I left my niece home on the couch while I went to the bus stop, but they weren’t locked in a hot car!

I was reassured however (she says sarcastically) by the final line of the article, “DPS is conducting an internal investigation, and Tucson Police Dept. has agreed to do a criminal investigation to determine whether there was any negligence or other criminal behavior involved.”

I’m sure, unless this guy hates dogs that he did not intentionally leave the dog in the hot car.  I would still however question his abilities to remain calm under pressure.  If he can forget his dog in a car because he is responding to an accident, what might he do should he discover say….

a tunnel full of illegal immigrants.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Switching gears to the Whoo Hoo portion of today’s post which ironically also includes a police officer.

There have been a number of W.T.F. Wednesdays where I wrote about a police officer responding to a call and shooting an innocent dog.   Have you seen this post?

Officer Responds To Dangerous Dog Call, Comes Home With New Best Friend – Baltimore, Maryland (Courtesy of Modified k9 Blogspot)

The officer (Dan Waskiewicz) responded to a ‘vicious dog‘ call and upon arriving at the scene OBSERVED the dog.

After ASSESSING the situation he determined the dog was in distress.  He called the dog to him and shared his water, then as he was driving the dog to the shelter, he decided he wanted to keep the dog!

Luckily for Bo, this officer was 1) a dog lover and 2) sensible enough to know the difference between dangerous and distressed, otherwise this story might have ended up in the W.T.F. portion of this post.

Lately I’ve been hearing at least one story a week where an officer shoots an innocent dog. Perhaps observing and assessing should become part of their training.

What do you think?  Do you think police officers are properly trained to handle situations involving dogs?

W.T.F. Wednesday

Joseph and Margaret Trueman were newlyweds when they left Ireland for America at the turn of the 20th century.

Carefully transported in her trunk, Margaret brought the family bible.  If you turn the delicate gold-edged pages to the section separating the old testament from the new testament, you will find the meticulously recorded births of all five of her sons, as well as the death of the one who did not survive.

Margaret Trueman was my great-grandmother, I found her bible when I was cleaning out my grandmother’s basement.  The cover has seen better days, but the words transcribed inside still remain to this day.

Many has been the day when I carefully turn the pages of that old bible, running my hands along the soft, silky pages and thinking of her and the life she left behind in Ireland.

I wonder, what dreams compelled her to leave the only home she knew and travel to another country far away from home and kin.  I wonder if  America helped her fulfill those dreams.

She died when I was very small and sadly I have no memory of her.

My whole life I’ve dreamed of going to Ireland, to the family farm for visits with cousins so far removed we can’t even determine how we are related.  Settled in at the old kitchen table, over cups of tea, with cream made fresh on the farm, we will get to know each other, to share our lives and dreams.

Today I dream of a world, where pets aren’t yanked out of loving arms and condemned to die, just because of the way they look.

Hey Belfast City Council, today’s WTF Wednesday is all yours.

Lennox the dog ‘humanely put to sleep’ – Belfast, Ireland

I don’t know about you, but I call bullshit.

There is nothing humane about what the Belfast City Council did to Lennox or his family.

If you live in the ‘dog’ world, you more than likely know about Lennox, deemed a ‘dangerous breed’ by the Belfast City Council, he was removed from his family and sentenced to die.

For the last two years, Lennox remained isolated from his family, alone but certainly not forgotten.  For two years his family fought valiantly for his return but they were denied every step of the way.

Despite the fact that well-known dog trainers offered to take Lennox and bring him to the United States, the city council refused.

Victoria Stillwell flew to Ireland prepared to take Lennox on a moment’s notice, still the council refused.

No, the Nazi’s of the dog world had spoken.

This morning the sad news was released that Lennox was put to sleep.

Truthfully I’m not surprised and I’ll tell you why.

My belief is that Lennox has been gone for quite some time.  What other explanation is there for not allowing anyone to see the dog in two years, why would they refuse to allow the family to have the body of the dog?  Why did the council vehemently refuse any and all offers to re-home the dog?

Because the dog was already gone.

Whether he died from their negligence or whether they just went ahead and euthanized him before all efforts in court were exhausted, I truly believe they COULD NOT produce the dog.

Run Fast, Run Free Lennox

Sadly Ireland does not stand alone in their ignorance.  Many cities in this country have Breed Specific Legislation and it’s wrong.  A dog should never be judged on looks alone.

When will we learn to punish the deed and not the breed?

I have a dream that one day we all will be judged by what’s in our hearts, not by how we look.

Run Fast, Run Free Lennox, you may be gone but those you left behind will continue to fight.

WTF Wednesday

There is nothing remotely funny in today’s WTF post.

I can’t even believe I’m actually typing this WTF post.  When I say I have a feeling of horror that is threatening to overwhelm me, I’m dead serious.  I want to cry.

There is an event that takes place at a campground in Indiana in September.  It involves live turtles and a cruel and brutal murdering.  I refuse to name the event because I don’t want my name or my blog associated with such a thing.  I am including the link to the petition here.  If you read the petition you will understand.

I beg you, please take a minute out of your day and sign this petition.  Please share it on your facebook page and any other social media you can think of.

All I can say is REALLY?  WTF KIND OF A-HOLE DOES THIS?  And brings their children there to watch it.  It’s supposed to be a family campground, WTF are you teaching your kids?

Bunch of f*cking hillbillies is right!

The petition has a number of e-mail and phone addresses to contact people who could stop this, I plan on writing to every one.  I would urge you to do the same.

I am however afraid of what my e-mail will say.

WTF In My Neck Of The Woods

Ok, I have to switch gears, if I don’t the blog will just be a post filled with cuss words.

I had a WTF moment this morning during our walk.  Do you remember the woman with the yellow lab (Norbert) and the Springer (Kingston?)  I wrote about them in the post about Delilah getting her leash caught in someone’s air conditioner.

Sampson, Delilah and I ran into them again this morning.   Apparently our walking buddy was heading in for a walk and they all went in together.

My friend said join them and so we all headed down to the field together.

And Kingston took off.

His mom pulled out a whistle and blew it and said, It usually works, he’ll come back eventually.

Yes he will.  Until the day he doesn’t.

I continued walking the dogs around the field because, well…..I’m there to walk, not stand in the field and wait for someone’s dog.  After a good three or four minutes the dog came running back out of the woods, at which point I was near a trail and said, I’m going to head in this way.

Off we went and we were joined a short time later by Kingston.

We headed up towards my friends house where we found them waiting AGAIN for Kingston.  I said, I would have text you and told you I had him if you weren’t here when we got here.

I didn’t stop my progress at all, I just kept the dogs moving as it was close to an hour and it was already quite warm.

Meanwhile, Kingston took off again.  I could hear them calling and whistling for him as we made our way back to the car.  It went on for a good five minutes.

I really wanted to say WTF is wrong with you?  Have you know care for your dog’s safety or well-being?

Besides the fact that your dog could ruin it for others by not being respectful, what if your dog got stuck, or hurt?  What if he fell off a rock or someone shot at him?  Do you think this stuff doesn’t happen?

News flash, it does.

All. The. Time.

Wake up and smell the coffee before you put your dog in such a predicament  that you can’t get him out or worse yet the authorities take him from you.

I can’t handle anymore WTF for today, the turtle murdering just did me in.

WTF Wednesday

I’ve been limited this week in the WTF’s that crossed my path.

I thought I wasn’t going to have a thing to write about until yesterday morning when 2BrownDawgs started her post off like this:

“This past weekend while we were driving down the Interstate we saw something crazy.  A pickup truck was pulling a 5th wheel trailer and tied toward the front of the bed of the pickup was a Golden Retriever.  The poor thing was sort of stuffed to the side of the hitch.  We couldn’t get over how terribly unsafe the whole thing looked.  Should that hitch give way, bye-bye Golden Retriever.”

Say it with me.  What the fuck?

I would have thought in this day and age people would have the common sense to not stick a dog in the back of a pick-up truck!  The poor dog was probably terrified to start with and then add in the safety factor!

I was reminded of a story that happened a few years back.  Hubby and I were at our local warehouse club, it was winter and it was raining.  A cold New England winter rain.

I don’t know about where YOU live, but here when it rains for some strange reason people can’t walk/run/skip to their cars with their groceries.  They need to send someone (usually the husband) to get the car while the delicate ones wait under the store’s awning.    Now that I think about it, I might have been doing the same thing.  LOL

This man pulls up to get his wife and two children and he has a big, shaggy dog in the back of his pick-up truck.

I about lost my shit.

I very politely asked him if he would be moving the dog to the cab of the truck and he said no.

Game on.

I told him the dog should not be riding in the back of the pickup and he said he had no room in the truck with the two kids.

As nicely as I could, I told him to put the kids in the back of the pick-up at which point his wife chimed in stating they would if they could get away with it.

Nice.   I don’t know who I felt more sorry for, the kids or the dog.

The last thing I remember them saying to me was they could have left the dog at home by himself, locked in the basement like other people would, instead of bringing the dog with them.

I’m not sure but if I was the dog, I probably would have chosen the basement.

Sometimes I really think people should need to take a common sense test before they are allowed to try and raise anything.

Be The Dog

I love that saying, “Be The Dog.”  As I’m sure you can tell because I’ve used it in about 3 or 4 posts.

Mazzie’s assistant, Tanya said, “Awesome new mantra that couldn’t be more true. Great name for a book, product line, the list is endless…. get a logo and trademark the name now!!!!”

I got wicked excited.  So I checked the trademark office and it’s already been trademarked, which is why I’ve added JUST to Be The Dog, but I’m not even sure I can do that.

On the chance that I can’t do that, I need a new slogan and that’s where you come in.

First of all does anyone know if I can add JUST to Be The Dog?

Here are some of the slogans I’ve thought of, bear in mind I want the slogan to be motivating:

JUST Be the Dog

Believe In The Dog

Live Life Like The Dog

Trust The Dog

I Am The Dog

Who’s The Dog

What Would The Dog Do?

Of course I’m open to any and all suggestions, so let me have it!

WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday

Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.

Puppy Found in Dumpster – Winnipeg, Canada

This has got to be one of the cutest little puppies I have ever seen.

Rayne a little shepherd-collie mix was found in the pouring rain in a dumpster.  Considering the size of the puppy and the size of a dumpster, I think we can all surmise that someone threw her in there.

Puppy Found in Trash Can – Atlanta, Georgia

Peyton a little shepherd mix was found by a feral cat searcher, covered in trash, tar and grime in the bottom of a trash can.  Again, considering the size of the puppy and the size of a 55 gallon trash can, it’s pretty apparent that at only four months old this little guy was thrown away.

REALLY?  W.T.F. IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

Puppies are so easy to place, I know at our local Humane Society puppies come in and puppies go out.  There is absolutely no need to throw a puppy away!  Cripes, at least drop it off at the pound so it has a chance, don’t leave it alone, having to fend for itself.  Do the Humane thing!

If the worst happens and the puppy is destroyed at least it isn’t starved to death.

Give it a fighting chance.

If I were a millionaire I would organize a watchdog group, who would use all resources available to track down the cowards who dump dogs.  And guess what?

Yup, they’d go in a giant friggin dumpster!  Left alone to fend for themselves and eat garbage.

Up yours coward.

Whoo Hoo Wednesday

The whoo hoo part of this post is designed to celebrate the small and large triumphs within our animal community.

Missing dog found alive after southeastern Arizona crash – Arizona

It was a sad story out of Arizona, Monday and Tuesday.  A renowned agility trainer, Elicia Calhoun had a terrible car accident Monday morning.  All six of her dogs were ejected from the car.  A thirteen week-old-puppy was killed at the scene and three of the dogs were taken to the vet but the other two dogs ran off.

I found the story yesterday morning on the No Dog About It Blog and was captivated.  I immediately joined the facebook page that had been set up to help find the two missing dogs and I checked it every five minutes, holding my breath, hoping to hear that both dogs had been found alive and well.

Sadly one of the dogs was hit by a car and killed while the other one, Tobie remained missing.  Elicia checked herself out of the hospital to assist in the search and shortly after 9:00 am (mountain time) the word came down that Tobie had been found and reunited with Elicia.

The picture said it all.

That’s all I have for today, so what had you shaking your head and screaming, W.T.F. or Whoo Hoo this week?
